22 ISIS fighters killed in Iraq
According to the official Iraqi agency INA, the Head of the Iraqi Anti-Terrorist Unit, Lt. Gen. Abdulvehhab es-Saidi, held a press conference on the operation with Deputy Commander of Joint Operations Kays al-Muhammadawi.
Speaking at the meeting, Saidi said that 22 ISIS members, including the alleged perpetrator of Fallujah, were killed in the operation they carried out in Anbar. Saidi noted that the operation is continuing.
IT WAS RETURNED FROM THE ORGANIZATION
The ISIS terror organization captured all of Iraq’s Mosul, Salahaddin and Anbar provinces in 2014, as well as parts of Diyala and Kirkuk provinces, and these regions were retaken from the organization over the years.
Former Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi declared victory over ISIS on December 9, 2017, but the group’s attacks continue in rural areas of these provinces. (AA)
