Life will stop tomorrow in Greece
Civil servants in Greece are going on strike tomorrow. The Greek Confederation of Public Workers Unions (ADEDY) declared a 24-hour strike on Wednesday March 8 at 12:30, calling a meeting in Klathmonos Square in the capital, Athens.
Different actions and press releases will take place in other major cities in Greece. On Wednesday, March 8, ‘Closed State’, that is, no public institution is expected to work.
ADEDY had previously decided to close the business by March 8 as part of the International Women’s Day celebrations, but following recent events, a 24-hour strike was decided. The General Council of ADEDY, in its session on March 2, 2023, requests the repeal of the regulation of Law No. 4940/2022 on reactionary legislative articles, targeting and evaluation standards.
It has been announced that these standards are particularly relevant for public service workers in ministries, municipalities, states and other public institutions.
