The British government is expected to introduce stricter rules for immigrants soon. Sunak is under increasing pressure to cope with the flow of migrants entering Britain from Europe across the Channel. Sunak has made stopping small boats one of his top five priorities.
‘It’s not right’
“Illegal migration is not fair to the British taxpayer, it is not fair to those who come here legally and it is not fair that criminal gangs can continue their immoral trade,” Sunak said. “I am determined to keep my promise to stop the boats. So make no mistake, if you come here illegally, you can’t stay.”

Last year, according to official figures, more than 45,000 people made the crossing. It also appears that the number of asylum applications in the UK is below the EU average.
Rwanda
Under current rules, asylum seekers who reach Britain can often remain in the country to be examined. The new law should put an end to all of this. Under former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, it was decided to send tens of thousands of migrants to Rwanda. This policy has been blocked by the European Court of Human Rights.
