Terrifying train accident: 20 derailed wagons
According to US media reports, 20 cars of a freight train belonging to the same company derailed in Springfield, Ohio, after the train carrying chemicals belonging to Norfolk Southern in Ohio derailed on February 3 and exploded.
It was reported that no one was injured in the accident and there were no hazardous materials leaks. After the accident, residents were advised to stay in a safe area.
On February 3, 50 cars of the 150-car train carrying chemicals on the railroad near the city of East Palestine in the US state of Ohio derailed and exploded.
After the explosions, it was decided to evacuate the inhabitants of the region due to the dispersion of high amounts of toxic chemicals in the environment.
After the incident, there were reports in the media that residents of the region had complaints such as headaches, burning eyes, coughing, weakness, and animal deaths.
Norfolk Southern, the train company involved in the accident, announced in a statement that they cleaned up the area in an environmentally friendly manner and provided financial assistance to the local population for losses caused by the accident. (AA)
