Thousands of women took to the square in London

Thousands of women gathered on Oxford Street, one of the most important streets in the city, marched chanting slogans and carrying banners criticizing the violence and discrimination to which their colleagues are exposed and the recent police attitude towards women in the country.

Citizens and tourists from these areas supported the women who passed through Regent Street and Piccadilly Circus, one of London’s iconic places, with applause and whistles.

After the march ended in Trafalgar Square, women’s rights activists said the trial of former police officer David Carrick for 49 offences, including 24 rape, shows how vulnerable women are.

“DEFINITELY MUST COUNT”

Speaking to the AA correspondent, women’s rights campaigner and poet Miss Yankey stated that the police, who are part of the violence against women in England, are definitely not responsible.

Noting that investigations into thousands of police officers are continuing, Yankey said: “They had plenty of opportunities to stop him (Carrick), but they didn’t. He also continued to freely rape women. I think Carrick is no exception. There are no bad apples in the police, the tree is rotten. I strongly believe that even the police were stunned by this corruption.” he said.

Stressing that the actions of women’s rights defenders are not enough to bring perpetrators of violence to justice, Yankey said: “They know what the problem is. We say.
