White House spokesman’s mistake on ‘Russian People’s Republic’ was ridiculed
White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre’s use of the name Russian People’s Republic for Russia was ridiculed.
Jean-Pierre, at the press conference he gave yesterday, said the People’s Republic of Russia for the Russian Federation. The American spokesman’s blunder was mocked in Moscow.
Russian diplomats stated that Jean-Pierre may have confused Russia with the People’s Republic of China.
Russia’s deputy ambassador to the UN, Dmitry Polyanski, mocked the US official, tweeting: “This non-existent country can be an adversary of the United American Emirates and the British Federation.” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova also shared the video of Jean-Pierre with the “zombie apocalypse” message.
US President Joe Biden is also on the agenda, often confusing country names.
