Action for those who lost their lives in the train accident in Greece
The activists, who started their march from Propylaea in the center of Athens, the Greek capital, sat on the ground in front of the parliament building and waited in silence for a minute for those killed in the accident.
The last stop of the protest march was the office of the private railway company “Hellenic Train” on Singru street.
Activists who wrote “murderers” in red paint in front of the “Hellenic Train” office carried black boards and black balloons in memory of those who died.
The activists demanded the punishment of those responsible for the accident, in which most of the people who lost their lives were students.
The “quiet” action held in front of the Parliament building ended with an eventful night. Following the silent action, a group of protesters hurled stones and Molotov cocktails at the police. The police responded with tear gas to the protesters.
In addition, unknown persons attempted to burn a police car in Monastiraki Square.
According to the news of the Greek state television Ert, 5 policemen were injured and 4 activists were arrested. (AA)
