Russia’s Nord Stream Statement: We Will Not Let It Stay Hidden

Lavrov held a press conference after the G20 Foreign Ministers Meeting in New Delhi, capital of India.

Noting that the statement at the G20 meeting was not approved by all foreign ministers, Lavrov said that Western countries tried to bring the situation in Ukraine to light at this meeting.

Referring to the explosions at the Nord Stream 1 and 2 natural gas pipelines last year, Lavrov stressed that this issue was ignored in the statement, saying: “We will fight for an investigation into the incident. We will not let this remain a secret.” he said.

“WEST IS TRYING TO PROTECT ITS HEGEMONY IN THE INTERNATIONAL ARENA”

Sergey Lavrov stated that Western countries aim to defeat Russia strategically, saying: “They are trying to protect their hegemony in the international arena. They don’t hide it.” He used the phrase.

Saying that the West is putting pressure on developing countries, Lavrov stressed that the United Nations (UN) charter must be followed.

Assessing US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s visit to Central Asia, Lavrov said: “We see that not only the Americans, but also the Europeans and the British are increasing their activities in a developing region, especially in the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States). They don’t even hide that they are working against these countries that have good relations with Russia.” he shared his opinion.

“I AM CONCERNED BY THE RATING OF THE THREATS THAT THREATEN CHINA”

Noting that China has been threatened regarding the Ukraine issue, Lavrov said: “I am concerned about the adequacy of those who make these threats. No one can threaten anyone. However, I don’t mind threatening China in modern conditions.” he performed the assessment of it.

Referring to the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, Lavrov said that they did not reject proposals on this issue.

“I TALKED ABOUT THE TRANSITION TO PAYING IN NATIONAL CURRENCY WITH MY TURKISH POSITION”

Noting that he met with the foreign ministers of Turkey, China and Brazil on the sidelines of the G20, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said:

“I will discuss with my counterparts from China, Brazil and Turkey the transition to new logistics chains that will be protected from Western arbitrariness, sanctions and other illegal acts, the transition to payments in national currencies in connection with the crude exploits of the Americans who own of the dollar and the European Union (EU) who owns the euro. Of course, this is the most important component of our bilateral interaction, which must be protected from what the West is doing in the field of the global economy.”

Noting that the dollar situation is “difficult,” Lavrov said that “Japan is also abusing the yen.” (AA)
