Russia attack alert, Putin cancels visit

Russia: Ukrainian sabotage groups attacked our land

In Russia, the Bryansk regional governor, Aleksandr Bogomaz, reported that one person was killed in an armed attack by a Ukrainian sabotage group on a village in the region.

Bogomaz, in a statement on his Telegram channel, claimed that a house fire broke out when the Ukrainian army attacked the region on the Russia-Ukraine border with an unmanned aerial vehicle. Furthermore, sharing the information that a sabotage reconnaissance group from Ukraine had infiltrated the village of Lyubeçane in the region, Bogomaz announced that this group opened fire on a moving car.

Bogomaz said: “As a result of the fire, 1 civilian lost their lives, a 10-year-old boy was injured. “The Russian Armed Forces take the necessary measures to eliminate the sabotage group,” he said.

‘THEY RECORDED THE MARKETS’

According to Russian press reports, the sabotage group in question took about 6 people hostage in a market in the town of Lyubeçane. Clashes are taking place between the soldiers of the Russian Federal National Guard Service (Rosgvardiya) and the sabotage group. On the other hand, it was reported that the village of Lomakovka in the Byransk region was attacked with mortar shells. It was reported that there were no casualties or injuries in the attack and that 2 houses were damaged.

Kursk Region Governor Roman Starovoit also said in a statement on Telegram that the Ukrainian army carried out an attack on the region’s town of Tetkino from the border.
Starovoit reported that there were injuries in the attack.

Putin VISIT CANCELED

Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitriy Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin canceled his visit to the Stavropol region due to the situation following the armed attack in the Bryansk region, and that he received regular information from the forces Russian security.

In his statement, Putin called the incidents a “terrorist attack” and said: “They started to attack civilians, but they will not succeed, we will defeat them.”

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) also announced that steps were taken to neutralize the Ukrainian armed sabotage group that violated the border in the Bryansk region.

UKRAINE REJECTED

Adviser to the Ukrainian presidential office, Mikhail Podolyak, described Russia’s claim that Ukrainian “sabotage groups” carried out attacks as a “classic provocation.”

“The story of Ukrainian ‘sabotage groups’ in Russia is a classic provocation. Fully aware. Russia wants to intimidate its own people to somehow justify attacking another country and increasing poverty in a year of war. Meanwhile, the partisan movement in Russia grows stronger and more aggressive. Fear your own supporters,” she said. (AA/Reuters)
