More than 400 schoolchildren poisoned in Iran
According to the news on the “Asriran” website, the rector of the Ardabil University of Medical Sciences, Ali Muhammediyan, stated that yesterday more than 400 students were poisoned in 11 schools in the province.
Muhammediyan stated that 302 students were discharged after their first treatment within a few hours and 100 students were kept under observation.
Noting that the condition of the students is good, Muhammediyan added that in addition to the necessary intervention, examinations have also been carried out and the detailed information will be shared with the public later.

Cases of mass poisoning in schools in Iran since November 30, 2022 draw attention. It is estimated that approximately 2000 students were poisoned in 3 months in Kum, Loristan, Tehran, Ardebil, Kermanshah, Simnan, Mazenderan, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Elborz and Rezevi Khorasan provinces.
At yesterday’s Council of Ministers meeting in Tehran, it was reported that Interior Minister Ahmed Vahidi has been assigned to investigate the alleged poisoning incidents.
Aliriza Monadi Sefidan, chairwoman of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Research and Technology, said: “Based on the results of monitoring and testing, it was determined that N2 (diazot) gas was found in the poison used in schools.” (AA)
