Cherson
It is true that almost all attention is focused on Bachmoet’s situation, but according to Hahn there are more and more places in Ukraine where fierce battles are being fought. One such place is the liberated southern city of Kherson “where the fight is actually much tougher than before.” According to Hahn, fighting is currently going on at about 60-70 points along that huge front line.

Although the city of Kherson has been liberated for more than 100 days now, since the liberation, residents who have stayed or returned have feared shelling. “So before there was Russian occupation, Russification, terror from within, but now there is continuous bombing and shelling. 119 bombings were reported across the oblast on Monday.
Residential areas
According to sources mentioned by Hahn, the Russian bombardment of Kherson is intense. Catering entrepreneur Leo de Lange has swapped Kherson for Kiev, but still has family living in the southern city: ‘Yesterday and the day before yesterday were the worst in the whole war. And really everything is affected. Hospitals, points where blood is drawn. Schools, these kind of goals are just trying to make them aware. These are all spots in the middle of a residential area. Then they miss again and then shoot again in the middle of an apartment building where people live. It’s actually every day. And that city will be razed to the ground.”

Hahn also reports heavy artillery shelling of villages in the Sumi region, close to the Kharkov region. “There, all sorts of villages are bombarded with artillery. And tell me there are big military objects in those villages. I think that’s fine. It’s a border area. You see it in Kharkiv too.’
