The president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, who focuses on the fight against crime, announced on his social media account the opening of the recently inaugurated “mega prison” in the country. Regarding the prison, where 40,000 prisoners can remain, Bukele announced that 2,000 gang members and criminals were transferred to this prison.

It was announced that thousands of prisoners were transferred.
“This will be their new home and here they cannot do more damage to society,” Bukele said. Bukele, who declared a state of emergency last year, began to fight crime. It is stated that more than 64,000 prisoners have been detained in recent months.
