Famous Writer Is Running for US President
American writer Marianne Williamson has announced that she will run for the 2024 presidential election.
In an interview with Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Williamson confirmed the news that he will be running in the 2024 Democratic Party presidential election. “I wouldn’t be running for president if I didn’t think I could help tap into the collective sensibilities that I think is our best hope right now,” Williamson said.
Saying the country is under the “threat of authoritarianism” under the shadow of corporate oligarchs, corporations and arms manufacturers, Williamson defended the view that lawmakers failed to adequately fight legal entities.
Williamson, the author of best-selling books such as “The Shadow Effect,” “A Return to Love,” “Change,” “A Year of Miracles,” was also a candidate for the 2020 presidential election. Saying she was pursuing a “policy of love,” Williamson withdrew from the race before the primary election due to problems with campaign donations and not garnering enough support.
Williamson is expected to officially announce his candidacy on March 4.
There is still no name from the Democratic Party who has officially announced his candidacy. Democratic President Joe Biden has said that he “intends to run” in the election, but he has yet to make an official announcement. (AA)
