Palestinian general strike decision after Israel’s bloody attack

A general strike was declared in the occupied West Bank and besieged Gaza Strip to mourn the 11 Palestinians killed in yesterday’s raid on Nablus by Israeli forces.

Wassil Abu Yusuf, a member of the Executive Board of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), said: “The strike is spreading to all provinces in the West Bank. This is a form of resistance against the Israeli occupation.” saying. Describing the Israeli forces’ raid on Nablus as a “massacre”, Abu Yusuf called for international intervention to stop the Israeli attacks.

Abu Yusuf said that the Palestinian people are united against the occupying forces. The PLO official stated that actions will be carried out today to “protest the crimes committed” by the Israeli army.

In addition to the West Bank, a general strike was launched in the Gaza Strip, shops and schools were closed.

Israeli forces stormed the northern West Bank city of Nablus from several points yesterday morning. Surrounding a house in the historic Old City of Nablus, Israeli soldiers fired live bullets at Palestinians protesting the raid, killing 11 Palestinians, including a child. Palestinian groups had called for a mass strike to mourn those who lost their lives in Nablus.
