US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said they are deeply concerned about the 6.4 magnitude earthquake centered in the Defne district of Hatay, which hit Turkey and Syria, saying the US will continue to support it in this context.
“We are deeply concerned by the news of the earthquake affecting already devastated regions in Turkey and Syria,” Sullivan said in a post on Twitter. Sullivan stressed that the full support of the US will continue due to the earthquakes.
United Nations (UN) Secretary General Antonio Guterres stated that his thoughts are with the Turkish and Syrian peoples who have experienced new earthquakes and announced that the UN stands ready to provide additional assistance.
