North Korean leader Kim’s sister: They will pay the price
Kim Yo-jong, the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, threatened the United States and South Korea, which held joint air exercises against North Korea’s ballistic missile tests, saying more would come if they did not stop the exercises.
According to CNN News, which is based on the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), North Korea’s official news agency, Kim Yo-jong said, “The frequency with which the Pacific Ocean is used as our firing range will be determined by the activities of the US military.” Saying that North Korea is ready to launch more ballistic missiles, Kim said that if the US military perceives its exercises on the Korean peninsula as a threat, his country will take equivalent measures.
“Extremists who escalate tensions in the region will pay the price,” Kim said.
Stressing that North Korea has enough technology and capabilities to retaliate, Kim said the only thing left is to focus on increasing military force.
Japan and South Korea announced that North Korea conducted a ballistic missile test over the Sea of Japan on February 18. The ballistic missile, which stayed airborne for 66 minutes, was recorded to have traveled 900 kilometers and was able to reach a height of 5,700 kilometers.
South Korea announced yesterday that it was conducting air exercises with the United States in response to North Korea’s long-range ballistic missile test. (AA)
