Zelensky: Macron is wasting time
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, speaking to the Italian media, evaluated French President Emmanuel Macron’s statement about keeping the door of dialogue with Russia open.
“It will be a useless dialogue, in fact Macron is wasting time,” Zelenskiy said.
French President Macron, in a recent statement, stated that Russia must be defeated but not crushed, stressing the importance of keeping the door of dialogue open. Speaking to the Italian daily Corriere della Sera, Zelenskiy assessed Macron’s statements.
Expressing that the dialogue with Russia is a waste of time, Zelenskiy said: “I have come to the conclusion that we cannot change Russia’s attitude. If they have decided to isolate themselves in the dream of rebuilding the former Soviet empire, we cannot help it. It is up to them to cooperate with the international community on the basis of mutual respect. There were those who accused us of isolating Russia when economic sanctions were imposed, but that was not the truth. “It was the decision to start a war that sidelined Putin,” he said. (DHA)
