US Secretary of State Blinken: Deeply saddened to see firsthand the earthquake destruction in Turkey
Blinken, who conducted aerial surveys in the earthquake area with Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, made a statement on Twitter.
“It was deeply saddening to see firsthand the devastation of the earthquake in Turkey,” Blinken said. He stated that the United States is determined to do everything in its power for rescue and relief efforts.
EARTHQUAKE AID INCREASED TO $185 MILLION
Blinken, in a statement on Twitter, announced that in addition to the $85 million in aid provided so far, an additional $100 million in humanitarian aid will be made.
“America’s businesses, communities and individuals are also helping generously. We would like to thank the teams at the Agency for International Development (USAID) who worked tirelessly to provide emergency assistance,” Blinken said, adding that the amount of humanitarian aid announced by the US for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria reaches 185 million dollars.
