The Netherlands agreed in principle to the establishment of an international organization in The Hague to record information on the damage caused by the war to Ukrainian households, businesses and infrastructure. This writes The Guardian.
The creation of the register – to be called the “Register of damages caused by Russian aggression to Ukraine” – was recommended in a resolution approved by the United Nations General Assembly in November.

The Guardian reports that, according to a statement from Ukraine’s Justice Ministry, it should become “the first part of a comprehensive redress mechanism … to ensure that Ukraine compensates in full for the damage caused, in accordance with international law”.
The announcement follows Prime Minister Mark Rutte’s visit to Kyiv on Friday. Justice Minister Denys Malyuska of Ukraine says it is right for the register to be located in the “capital of international law”.
