Murdered his ex-wife and 5 other people
In a small town in the US state of Mississippi, the 52-year-old gunman killed his divorced wife and 5 people with a gun.
According to the BBC report, the murders were committed in a market, 2 houses and a car in the town of Arkabutla, where less than 300 people live. The attacker was said to have a hunting rifle and 2 pistols in hand.
The attacker, who entered the gas station market around 11:00 a.m. local time and shot one person, then went to a nearby house and shot his ex-wife. According to the New York Times, the gunman went to another house next door to his home and shot the person believed to be his stepfather and his unidentified wife.
The suspect killed 2 more people, one inside the car and the other in an area not far from his home. The suspect, who was captured and charged with “deliberate murder”, is being held in the district prison.
Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves said the suspect is believed to have acted alone. The cause of the attack has not yet been determined. (AA)
