Macron urges Europe to strengthen its defense industry

French President Macron, in his speech at the 59th Munich Security Conference in Germany, said the new world order must be reviewed.

Stating that he is very interested in the participation of other countries in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), Macron stated that the priority of each country may be different, so the structure of the council should be reviewed.

Macron, referring to Russia, said that the implementation of important decisions was prevented by the objection of a country in the United Nations Security Council.

“THE WAR WITH RUSSIA STARTED WITH IMPERIALIST Impulse1

Stating that Russia started a war with a neocolonial and imperialist impulse, disregarding Ukraine and his nation, Macron said that Russia committed a systematic war crime in Ukraine.

Noting that Russia started the war and also caused a crisis of raw materials and food in the world, Macron said: “If we want a permanent world order and lasting peace, we must not let Russia win this war.” saying.

Expressing that Ukraine’s resistance has failed in the face of Russia’s attacks, Macron assessed that this also shows that Russia’s military plan, colonial mentality, ability to see the future and its desire to become a new authority in the world they have failed.

Saying that Russia must not fail and win the war, Macron stressed that Europe must take more responsibility in the process leading to peace.

Stating that Russia is trying to be effective not only in Ukraine but also in many places, especially in Africa, Macron said that the Russian-backed mercenary group Wagner has become a criminal organization in Africa.

MACRON’S CALL TO STRENGTHEN NATO’S PRESENCE

Macron called on Europe to increase its aid to Ukraine, saying Russia could come to the peace table if Ukraine strikes back and suppresses the attacks.

Calling on European Union (EU) countries to focus on defense production, Macron noted that the EU must become self-sufficient in the defense industry and production in this field must take place on the continent.

Macron argued that the EU should also reconsider its security doctrine regarding the protection of its borders and jointly show determination in producing long-range ballistic missiles.

Stating that the eastern wing of NATO and its presence in the Mediterranean should also be strengthened, the French president pointed out that they are prepared for the prolongation of the Russia-Ukraine War.

Noting that NATO and the EU should also increase their nuclear deterrence, Macron commented that France and the US play an important role in this regard.

“IMPERIAL OBSERVATION OF RUSSIA”

French President Macron has proposed holding a “European air defense conference” in Paris in the coming term.

Calling on the continent to increase its protection against cyber, space and maritime attacks, Macron warned that Russia and other authoritarian countries could seize the fragile lines of European democracy and attack.

Stating that “Russia has not yet digested the termination of its empire,” Macron commented that imperial obsession was the basis of Russia’s war against Ukraine. (AA)
