Mitsotakis: Turkey-Greece relations can be redefined
Speaking to Greek state television ERT, Miçotakis made assessments of relations between Turkey and Greece.
Mitsotakis drew attention to the magnitude of the earthquakes in Turkey, saying: “It was our humanitarian responsibility to support the people of Turkey and Syria. We were among those who sent first aid to rescue people from the rubble.” he said.
Stating that Greece’s support for Turkey is a humanitarian act, Mitsotakis noted that this support is not for foreign policy purposes.
“WE MUST LEARN TO SOLVE OUR PROBLEMS PEACEFULLY”
Emphasizing that there is nothing separating the Turkish people from the Greek people, Mitsotakis said: “We are neighboring countries, we must learn to solve our problems peacefully.” saying.

“Under certain circumstances, this earthquake may be an opportunity for Greece and Turkey to redefine their relations, amid the unspeakable devastation it has caused.”
Miçotakis affirmed that there is a psychological empathy between the two peoples, saying: “It is our duty to evaluate this, it is my personal debt.” he said.
Mitsotakis stated that he was one of the first to raise the need to provide active support to Turkey at the European level after this major natural disaster, and that Greece wanted to play an active role, adding that Greece was ready to do everything possible to support to turquia. (AA)
