Gift drive from Gaza for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria

The campaign is organized in the context of the “One Body” initiative launched by the non-governmental organization Emel Orphans Association on Sunday in solidarity with Turkey and Syria.

Association officials stated that the children’s gift drive aroused the interest of private companies and Palestinian orphans.

Children participating in campaign activities cover gifts collected for their peers in Turkey and Syria with colored wrapping paper and stick a colorful label with the words “From Gaza Children to Turkish Children” on the package.

The inhabitants of Gaza, who try to maintain their lives in difficult conditions due to the blockade to which they have been exposed for years, affirm that for the first time an event was held to collect aid, although they organized support shows and solidarity activities for the victims of the earthquake. in Turkey and Syria.

“A BEAUTIFUL SOLIDARITY EVENT”

Noting that the campaign will continue for a month, Msri said that the gifts will be sent to Turkey and Syria in coordination with the Turkish Red Crescent.

Misri said the gift drive is part of the “One Body” campaign launched by the Emel Orphans Association to express the solidarity and feelings of the two peoples affected by the earthquake and the Palestinian people.

Stating that “this campaign is a kind of loyalty to the Turkish and Syrian people,” Misri said, “This is a good response for the Turkish people, who have always supported the Palestinians during the military attacks on Gaza. Misri stated that these gifts were a simple donation, made with the modest means of the Palestinians in Gaza, but that they had a symbolic value.

Taqwa Abu Asi (14), one of the Palestinian orphaned children, said that they are deeply saddened by this disaster experienced by the children in Turkey and Syria.

Abu Asi stated that as Palestinians they know very well what it means to migrate and lose their homes, and that they have also experienced this pain due to the Israeli attacks, and that they want to support them with the toys they sent to the children who were damaged by the earthquakes. .

“THIS IS OUR LOYALTY TO TURKEY”

The Palestinian Rua Yasin (13) also affirmed that with these toys that they sent to the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, they gave the message that ‘we feel your pain and we are with you’.

Yasin explained that the gifts, however small, “have a symbolic value and express the solidarity of the children of Gaza with the children of Turkey and Syria.”

Yasin wished God’s mercy for the children who lost their lives in the earthquakes and a speedy recovery for the injured.

Necla el-Galayeyni, a member of the association’s Board of Directors, said that the mothers of the orphans also donated a lot for the children affected by the earthquake.

Stating that the mothers donated gifts, toys and winter clothing, Galeyeyni said, “These mothers are mothers who have experienced the same pain as the earthquake victims, although their reasons are different.
