Prime Minister of Armenia: We present the peace plan to Azerbaijan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said he hopes that partial progress will be made in the negotiations for the signing of a peace agreement between his country and Azerbaijan.
Pashinyan, at the meeting of the Council of Ministers, made assessments of the negotiations on the peace agreement that his country is expected to sign with Azerbaijan. Noting that they have completed the next round of work on the draft agreement on the establishment of peace and relations with Azerbaijan, Pashinyan announced that they have sent their proposals to the Baku administration.
Pashinyan said that the draft text was also sent to the countries co-chairing the Minsk Group of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). Mentioning that they are working with the logic that the text is ready to be signed at any time and the draft must be acceptable to Azerbaijan, Pashinyan said: “We hope that improvement can be achieved in partial progress that is felt as a result of three rounds of talks.
Pashinyan argued that he was always ready to take responsibility for the signing of the agreement as soon as possible.
TWO NEGOTIATIONS WERE CARRIED OUT
Azerbaijan had prepared the draft agreement that was expected to be signed with Armenia in 2022 in accordance with 5 basic principles and presented it to Armenia. Immediately afterwards, two rounds of negotiations were held between the parties.
The third package of views on the peace agreement was presented to Armenia. However, the third round of negotiations, scheduled to be held in Moscow on December 23, 2022, was canceled after Armenia refused to participate. (AA)
