Donations raised for earthquake victims in Saudi Arabia exceed $100 million
Saudi Arabia’s public institution, the King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Studies Center, launched an aid campaign for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria on February 7, in line with the directives of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The amount raised in the aid campaign, which continued with the motto “Your contributions alleviate the suffering of the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria” through the Sahem Platform of the King Salman Center for Humanitarian Studies and Aid, reached 376 million 383 thousand 497 rials (100 million 239 thousand dollars).
Abdullah bin Abdulaziz er-Rabia, director of the King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Studies Center, announced on February 14 that 3,000 container houses would be sent to seismic zones in Turkey and Syria.
Saudi Arabia has also sent 11 aid planes to Turkey and Syria to support the victims of the earthquakes in KahramanmaraÅŸ so far. (AA)
