NATO Secretary General arrives in Turkey
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said he will travel to Turkey tomorrow to meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and give him a message of solidarity for the earthquakes.
Stoltenberg gave information about NATO support for Turkey and his visit to Turkey tomorrow at the press conference he gave at the end of the NATO Defense Ministers Meeting. Emphasizing that all allies expressed their deepest condolences and support to Turkey due to the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, Stoltenberg said: “NATO and NATO allies and partners have increased their support.”
‘AID WILL BE SENT TO TURKEY’
Stoltenberg recalled that NATO will send shelter facilities in addition to the aid from the Allies and said that they will be sent to Turkey in a few days.
Stating: “I will be in Turkey tomorrow to meet President Erdoğan and Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and express my solidarity and condolences,” Stoltenberg said he would also assess aid coordination from NATO and allies during their meeting.
Recalling that they opened the NATO Defense Ministers Meeting with a moment of silence yesterday, Stoltenberg said: “I would like to thank our allies for their support for Turkey. “Today I ended the Defense Ministers Meeting by calling on all allies to increase their support and strategic assistance,” he said.
