New crisis of the ‘bubble’ between the US and China
Speaking on a program he attended on US channel MSNBC, Kirby responded to allegations by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Vinbin that US hot air balloons have carried out more than 10 illegal flights in Chinese airspace since last year.
THEY REJECTED THE CLAIMS
Kirby stated that these claims are “absolutely false” and said: “We are not flying balloons over China. This is absolutely true.” He used the phrase. On the other hand, noting that diplomatic relations with China continue, Kirby said: “We have the opportunity to communicate directly with Chinese leaders about our concerns about the spy balloon. We have already expressed our concerns about this issue in private sessions as well,” he said.
Kirby also answered questions about the US military’s downing of an unidentified object flying over Lake Huron on the Canadian border. Saying that they do not yet have clear information on these flying objects, Kirby noted that they will share it with the American public as information emerges.
Noting that these objects can be for commercial or academic purposes and be completely harmless, Kirby said the flying objects in question are quite small compared to the Chinese spy balloon. Kirby stated that they did not meet with foreign government officials outside of Canada regarding the three flying objects detected over the weekend.
“NECESSARY MEASURES WILL BE TAKEN”
Kirby, for his part, stated that they held talks on “Chinese high-altitude balloons that fly over many countries and continents” and stressed that they will carefully monitor the airspace and take necessary measures for their national security.
Regarding the Russia-Ukraine War, Kirby said they expect the fighting to intensify as the weather starts to warm up. Kirby stressed that they will continue to provide the necessary support to Ukraine in this context. (AA)
