Wagensveld, leader of the racist PEGIDA movement in the Netherlands, tore up the Koran again
Wagensveld shared the image on his social media account where he climbed on top of the Holy Quran and broke another Quran today in the city of Utrecht.
Wagensveld, who said in the post that he would take the torn Koran home and burn it, thanked the mayor of Utrecht and the police for allowing and facilitating the demonstration he held alone.
Wagensveld tore up the Holy Quran under police protection at a solo demonstration in front of the temporary Dutch parliament building in The Hague on January 22.
Last week, hundreds of Muslims protested attacks on the Koran in The Hague, the Netherlands.
I WAS STOPPED AT THE SHOW IN ROTTERDAM
Similarly, the action by PEGIDA, which planned to burn the Koran in Rotterdam on October 22, ended before Wagensveld was arrested.
Muslim groups gathered at the place where the demonstration was planned in Rotterdam, held a counter-demonstration because the PEGIDA demonstration was not banned despite announcing that it would burn the Koran.
Wagensveld, who was released the same day after his arrest, wanted to hold a similar action in The Hague the next day, but the police detained Wagensveld again on the grounds that he was not following the demonstration rules.
In a written statement made by the Dutch Prosecutor’s Office on November 17, Hz. Wagensveld, who was detained by police for insulting Muhammad, was reported to not be prosecuted because he insulted religion itself, not members of the faith. Islamic, and that he did not commit any crime. (AA)
