A minute of silence for Turkey in Bremen

A minute’s silence was observed in Bremen, Germany, for those who lost their lives in the Kahramanmaraş earthquake, which is being described as the “disaster of the century”.

State Chancellor Andreas Bovenschulte, State Assembly Speaker Frank Imhoff and many Germans attended the moment of silence on the Bremen town square. Bovenschulte stated that they came together to commemorate those who lost their lives together in the earthquake disaster and to create a sign of solidarity with the survivors, adding: “I see the solidarity of our society here today. We mourn those who lost their lives. I wish the injured a speedy recovery. Let us help alleviate the suffering of people in earthquake zones,” he said.

Stating that they asked for donations for the victims of the earthquake disaster, Bovenschulte said: “We are ready to help as much as we can. We must heal the wounds together, ”he said.

The president of the Bremen State Assembly, Imhoff, expressed that he looked at the images of the destruction left by the earthquakes with sadness and horror and said: “I offer my deepest condolences to all those who have lost their family and friends or are worried about the fate of their loved ones. Thank you to everyone who helped with great solidarity. Keep helping. “People who have lost their homes need support,” he said.

Later, flowers were laid in front of the Bremen Roland monument, known as the Statue of Liberty, in memory of those who lost their lives. (AA)
