Visit to the earthquake zone of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece
Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias came to Turkey to visit the earthquake area and meet with Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
Dendias reached Adana, whose epicenter was in Kahramanmaraş and affected by the 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude earthquakes that affected 10 provinces. The private plane carrying the Greek Foreign Minister Dendias landed at the Adana Şakirpaşa airport.
Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu welcomed Dendias here. The ministers held a closed-door meeting at the airport.
Earlier, Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou and Greek Prime Minister Kiriakos Mitsotakis phoned President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and expressed their condolences. Miçotakis said that after the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, they supported the rescue efforts in cooperation with the Turkish authorities.
As Greece sends a search and rescue team to Turkey, many political parties and non-governmental organizations in the country are also conducting numerous relief campaigns for the earthquake victims. (AGENCIES)
