Alert of anomalous radar activity in the US
The US military temporarily closed the area to flights on the grounds that it detected abnormal radar activity over the state of Montana, where nuclear weapons are deployed.
After the Chinese balloon struck unidentified objects over Alaska and Canada, the North American Air Defense Command (NORAD) took action, this time in the state of Montana, where US nuclear weapons are stationed.
In a written statement from the command, “NORAD, in cooperation with the Federal Aviation Administration, applied a temporary flight restriction to central Montana on February 11, 2023 to ensure the safety of air traffic in the region during a NORAD operation. “NORAD detected a radar anomaly and sent a fighter plane to investigate. These planes did not find any objects to correlate with their radar detections. NORAD will continue to monitor the situation.
The US military struck a Chinese high-altitude balloon, which it had previously detected over Montana, off the coast of South Carolina, on February 4. The Pentagon dropped an unidentified object over Alaska on February 9.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also announced that they shot down an unidentified object that violated Canadian airspace in cooperation with the United States. (AA)
