German President Steinmeier: Your pain is our pain
German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, in a video message he shared on social media, said they were deeply saddened by images from Turkey and Syria since Monday.
Emphasizing that many people are trapped in the ruins of their houses, Steinmeier said: “Many of them lost their homes and belongings. It is vulnerable in the snow and cold.” she used the phrase.
Stating that earthquake survivors mourn their losses, Steinmeier said: “We often see people digging through the rubble with their bare hands in search of their loved ones. Even from afar, we see unbearably dramatic scenes. We see a father holding the hand of his dead daughter and not wanting to let go. he said.
“YOUR PAIN IS OUR PAIN”
Addressing people in Germany who have relatives and friends in Turkey or Syria, Steinmeier said:
“To the many who are now crying, crying, hoping and fearing throughout Germany; I appeal to people who often feel powerless because they cannot help in the disaster zone. I tell you everything today. We see your suffering, we hear your cries. Your pain is our pain. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who has been helping us here and in the ruined cities these days. There are so many people working tirelessly right now. Aid carriers, fundraisers or the donors themselves, those who are with neighbors whose relatives in Turkey and Syria were affected by the disaster. On behalf of our country, I thank you from the bottom of my heart; Danke, thank you and gratitude!”
Stating that the people who lost everything in the earthquakes in Turkey or Syria need help now, Steinmeier said: “When the images of the disaster are replaced by other news, they will need our solidarity and support. Our humanity is in demand and will continue to be in demand!” he said. (AA)
