Russia: Gas hub plan for Turkey may be delayed
Russia announced that there may be a delay in plans to establish a natural gas hub in Turkey following the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that the natural gas hub plan is not a priority issue for Turkey at the moment, so there is likely to be a delay in the plan’s implementation. “Of course, this cannot be Turkey’s priority at the moment and we understand that very well,” Peskov said, noting that the plans will be implemented despite this.
The Russian spokesman also said that they will provide necessary support to Turkey in fighting the disaster and rebuilding the destroyed places.
Russian President Vladimir Putin had proposed the establishment of a natural gas hub in Turkey to supply natural gas to Europe after the Nord Stream pipelines in the Baltic Sea were damaged by explosions in September.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also announced that the two countries will carry out work and action will be taken for the plan.
