The fight for a miracle continues in Syria
Continuing search and rescue efforts in northwestern Syria, the White Helmets non-governmental organization announced that on the fourth day of the earthquakes, there was still a voice among the ruins.
White Helmets said that the number of people who lost their lives in the regions where the opposition was located exceeded 1,900 and the number of injured exceeded 2,950. It is claimed that the death toll in government-controlled areas is close to the 3,000.
On the other hand, stating that one border gate is open for international humanitarian aid to Syria, Foreign Minister Mevlüt ÇavuÅŸoÄŸlu stated that they are working to open two more gates and said: “This is not a political situation because it is a situation humanitarian. Therefore, we are working to open these gates from points controlled by the Syrian regime.”
The Damascus government stresses that the sanctions from Western countries and the scarcity of international aid have increased the dimensions of the disaster, and that they have difficulties finding teams for rescue efforts. (Reuters/DHA)
