The number of aid workers coming from Europe to Turkey is close to 1500
The Commission of the European Union (EU) has updated the information on the teams sent in the framework of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism due to the earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6, whose epicenter is in the districts of Pazarcık and Elbistan from Kahramanmaraş and affecting 10 provinces in total.
Consequently, 20 EU countries have taken steps to send 29 search and rescue teams and 5 medical teams so far. These teams were reported to consist of a total of 1,485 people and 100 search and rescue dogs.
It was recalled that some of the teams arrived in Turkey and started working in the earthquake zone.
In addition, it was indicated that the EU will send materials such as tents, blankets and heaters, as well as search and rescue and medical teams. It was indicated that Germany, Lithuania and Slovenia are working to send these materials. (AA)
