French Labor Minister accused of favoring French water giant Saur
According to the news from the French newspaper Mediapart, in the investigation report of the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office, Dussopt, who was mayor of the city of Annonay between 2008 and 2017, accused him of favoring the Saur Group, one of the French giants of the water, regarding the fraudulent treatment.
The prosecution did not bring any corruption charges against Dussopt.
An official of the Saur Group gave Dussopt 2 paintings by his favorite painter, Gerard Garouste, in 2017. The National Financial Prosecutor’s Office launched a preliminary investigation into relations between Dussopt and the Saur Group in June 2020.
Investigating officers who obtained the conversations between Dussopt and the Saur Group concluded that there was little doubt that an adjustment was made under a public contract between 2009 and 2010.
The Saur Group, which operates in the field of water treatment, has been operating in Annonay for many years. (AA)
