US sanctions network helping Russia evade sanctions
In a statement made by the US Treasury Department, it was claimed that the sanctions decision targeted the network that supports Russia’s military-industrial complex and evades global sanctions.
The statement stressed that this is part of US efforts to prevent sanctions evasion around the world and limit Russia’s access to the revenue it needs for war.
The statement noted that the network in question is run by Russia and Greek Cypriot arms dealer Igor Zimenkov, and that the individuals involved in the network are involved in projects related to the development of Russian defense capabilities, including the supply of High technological devices to a Russian company after the war started by Russia in Ukraine.
In the statement, it was noted that in this context, sanctions were imposed on 22 individuals and companies from many countries for being connected to the network. Among those sanctioned were companies based in Singapore, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Israel. (AA)
