US Treasury raises debt forecast

The ministry announced its debt estimates for the January-March and April-June periods of this year.

CASH BALANCE 447 BILLION DOLLARS

The statement indicated that the Treasury owed $373 billion in the October-December period of last year, and that the cash balance was $447 billion at the end of the quarter.

In the forecast shared in October, the Ministry announced that the Treasury was expected to borrow $550 billion in the last quarter of last year, and that the cash balance at the end of December would be $700 billion. (AA)
