Repeated elections in 3 regions of France

2 candidates from the New Social and Ecological Popular Union (Nupes), made up of left-wing and environmental parties, and 1 candidate from the ruling front, were elected deputies in the framework of the re-election of parliament in 3 constituencies in France.

In France, after the Constitutional Court annulled the results of the parliamentary elections in the constituencies 8 of Pas-de-Calais, 2 of Marne and 1 of Charente in June 2022, parliamentary elections were held again in these regions. According to the news released by the French press based on unofficial results, the two Nupes candidates, Rene Pilato and Bertrand Petit, and the candidate of the pro-government front, Laure Miller, were elected deputies in the second round of the elections.

Pilate garnered 50.99 percent of the vote in the 1st Charente constituency, while Petit garnered 66.49 percent of the vote in the 8th Pas-de-Calais constituency.

Miller won 51.8 percent of the vote in the 2nd Marne constituency, beating out her far-right National Union (RN) rival Anne-Sophie Frigout. Thus, the number of 1 deputies from the RN party in parliament decreased.

The turnout rate in 3 constituencies was 30 percent or less. (AA)
