Air strike against convoy of Iranian terrorist groups in Deir ez-Zor
According to information received by the AA correspondent from field sources, SİHA of unknown origin, near the town of Elbukemal in eastern Deir ez-Zor, attacked a logistics convoy of Iranian-backed foreign terrorist groups.
In the convoy that entered Syria from Iraq and was attacked in the village of Herri in the city of Elbukemal, at least 4 trucks loaded with closed boxes became the target of attacks. There is no information on deaths or injuries regarding the attack.
Earlier, the Israeli military announced that it targeted an Iranian weapons convoy on the Syria-Iraq border in November 2022.
IRANIAN SUPPORTED TERRORIST GROUPS ARE INTENSELY PRESENT IN DEIRIZOR
Iranian and Iranian-backed foreign terrorist groups are known to have a strong presence in the districts of Elbukemal, Muhsan and al-Mayadin in eastern Deir ez-Zor.
The central and western province of Deir ez-Zor, with the help of groups backed by Iran and Russia, passed to Syrian state after the withdrawal of the terrorist organization ISIS in November 2017.
Iranian-backed foreign terror groups, which have become the regime’s ground power, have a more intense presence in Deir ez-Zor.
The Iranian, Iraqi, Lebanese, Afghan and Pakistani groups stationed in Deir ez-Zor, where the Sunni Arabs live, are commanded by members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Army. (AA)
