Biden’s new chief of staff will be Jeff Zients

US President Biden, in his written statement on the subject, stated that he had known current Chief of Staff Klain since his college years, and that he wanted to make him chief of staff when he was elected president because of his political experience.

US President Biden pointed out that it is important to replace Klain, with whom they have made “incredible progress” in many areas, from Covid-19 to the economy, from the climate crisis to foreign policy.

In this context, Biden, who announced that Zients, former White House Coordinator to Combat Covid-19, will be the new Chief of Staff, stated that he knew Zients from his duties during the era of former President Barack Obama.

Biden thanked Klain for his contributions and said he was confident Zients would lead the White House team “in an intelligent and consistent manner.”

President Biden announced that the reorganization will officially take place next week.

Regarded as having significant management experience in government and the private sector, Zients served as director of the National Economic Council and acting director of the Office of Management and Budget during the administration of former President Barack Obama.

After leading the White House epidemic team during the Biden era, Jeff Zients left this role in April 2022, but continued to work in areas such as policy research and planning at the White House at the request of Ron Klain.

It was reflected in the news that Klain, who was also his private secretary when Biden was vice president in the Obama administration, had been considering leaving his current position for some time. (AA)
