Investigation into attacks on churches in Paris
The prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation into increasing incidents of arson attacks against churches in Paris, the French capital.
According to reports in the French press, many churches have been set on fire in different parts of Paris in recent days. As a result of the arson, the fire that grew in the Saint-Laurent church in the 10th arrondissement of the capital caused damage, while the Notre-Dame-de-Fatima church in the 19th arrondissement was attacked twice on the 17th and January 22.
On January 18, the church of Saint-Martin-des-Champs in the 10th arrondissement caught fire and it was determined that liquid and solid flammable materials were used in these fires.
Although the Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation under the accusation of “intentional damage to a religion”, an explanation has not yet been given as to who or who committed the fire.
Condemning the arson attempts on Twitter, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo expressed her support for the Diocese. (AA)
