“Visa at the door” reaches German investors from Iraq

General Yahya Rasul, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani’s military spokesman, answered questions from reporters at a news conference in the capital Baghdad.

Referring to Prime Minister Sudani’s visit to Germany on January 13, Rasul noted that they wanted German companies to invest in various fields, especially renewable energy, gas and oil in the country.

Noting that they will start direct flights between Baghdad and Berlin and other cities in Germany, Resul stated that they will provide some facilities for German investors to invest in Iraq.
General Resul said: “Following the Prime Minister’s instructions, we will issue direct entry visas at the gateway to those arriving by land, air and sea, to facilitate the entry of (German) investors through all border gates and customs.”

Rasul also noted that cooperation between the Baghdad administration and the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) on border security continues.

Noting that the flag of the central government hangs in the border regions, Resul said that this is an example of coordination with the KRG Peshmerga.
Resul said: “In accordance with the Prime Minister’s instructions, we continue to take security measures and control the borders with our neighbors Iran and Turkey. We will never allow our lands to be an attack area for any country,” he said.

Iraqi Prime Minister Sudani, in an exclusive interview with the Arabic television channel Deutsche Welle (DW) in Berlin, said that cooperation with Germany in the field of energy was “promising”.

During his visit to Berlin, Sudani stated that they signed an agreement with the German company Siemens in the field of electricity and allocated the necessary financial budget for it, saying, “These projects are important and will provide electricity to Iraq. After that, joint agreements will also be signed in Baghdad.” he said. (AA)
