Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open

Novak Djokovic of Serbia reached the quarterfinals at the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam tennis tournament of the season. The individual matches of the eighth day of the tournament held in Melbourne have been completed.

In the fourth round of men’s singles, Djokovic, the most decorated player in the tournament’s history with 9 championships, defeated Australian 22nd seed Alex de Minaur 3-0 6-2, 6-1, 6-2 sets. after 2 hours and 6 minutes of fighting and tied with the Russian Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals.

World number 35 Tommy Paul defeated 24th-seeded Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain 3-1 (6-2, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5) to reach his most successful level at Grand Slams. The American tennis player will face Ben Shelton from the same country in the quarterfinals.

The quarterfinals will start tomorrow. Stefanos Tsitsipas-Jiri Lehecka and Karen Khachanov-Sebastian Korda in men’s singles; The Jessica Pegula-Victoria Azarenka and Elena Rybakina-Jelena Ostapenko competitions will be played in women’s singles. (AA)
