The world is talking about this man: he accidentally destroyed 2 trillion TL of Bitcoin

James Howells, who lives in Wales, was on the agenda in England… Howells, 37, who threw away some “posts” that he had cleaned his house with his lover at the time in 2013, realized that among the things he pulled away was a hard drive with millions of dollars in bitcoins.

There were 8 thousand of the first produced bitcoins in the cryptocurrency wallet in external memory, which he accidentally dumped. Howells, who realized too late that he had thrown away the external memory and tried to find the hard drive with the crypto money craze that has spread in recent years, spoke to British media.

The young entrepreneur is still tracking how the value of his lost money has changed.

A remorseful man spoke to the British Sunday Times after realizing that the bitcoin he had thrown away was worth $1 million at the time. Howells said: “It’s not really putting it on right now. At one point, this cryptocurrency was worth half a trillion dollars. It’s only $130 million right now. So it doesn’t bother much. If I think about it too much, I’ll go crazy.”

Although he said that he formed a team to get the hard drive out of the trash, but the city council did not approve this, he also reminded that one bitcoin cost 69 thousand dollars for one period. While Howells claimed that bitcoin’s value would rise again, he claimed that the bitcoin he had thrown away could reach almost $2 billion in two years. But for Howells to get the money from him, he has to find a 7 by 10 centimeter metal box with a glass disk inside.

Howells said that all plans are in place to find the external memory where the crypto money is located, while the city government does not allow it.

Howells, who predicted where his external memory might be in the dump in Newport and said he was ready to assemble a team for it, said: “It seemed like a good idea when you first heard about bitcoin being created by a person or people.” named Satoshi Nakamoto. It wasn’t about making money, it was about creating a financial system. I downloaded it and started trading in February 2009,” he said.

“I WAS ONE OF THE FIRST 5 PEOPLE”

Saying that in 2009, mining on bitcoin had just started and thus earning bitcoins every few minutes, Howells also stated that mining time is now even longer and that it is very difficult to earn a bitcoin. Howells said: “I was one of the first 5 people to mine bitcoins. The other is Satoshi. He was setting up my computer before I went to bed and when I woke up I had between 400 and 800 bitcoins”.

Claiming that he collected 600 bitcoins, now worth $10 million, the day he worked on his computer all day, Howells stated that a man living in Oslo bought a luxury apartment with the money he earned from bitcoin in 2013, and expressed disappointment at the lack of external memory.

WILL DONATE BITCOINS

Claiming that the idea to pick up the house and toss out the unused ones came from his girlfriend at the time, but he is no longer with her, Howells also claimed that he said if Newport authorities give him permission, 10 percent of the recovered bitcoins will be donated approximately 13 million dollars. The young businessman, who said he too will hand out 50 pounds of bitcoin to citizens living in Newport in Wales, said he has yet to hear back.

Howells also explained that, if approved, it would cost the team a minimum of £10m, or around $12m, to find the external memory. Furthermore, it is not known when this investigation will conclude.
