Funeral of the Ukrainian minister and his colleagues

A state funeral was held today for Ukraine’s Interior Minister Denys Monastyrski, the deputy minister and their colleagues, who died in the helicopter crash.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy “Thank you for your important and valuable work for the benefit of Ukraine. You are in our hearts forever.”

Ruslan Stefanchuk, speaker of the Ukrainian parliament, who attended the funeral, said in his message: “It is very difficult…Ukraine has lost honest and decent people who worked for their country. And he loves his country,” he said.

WHAT HAPPENED?

In the city of Brovary, in the Kyiv region, the SES helicopter carrying Interior Minister Denys Monastyrski, the deputy minister and their colleagues crashed in a kindergarten garden on Wednesday, killing a total of 14 people, including a child. Authorities announced that 25 people, including 11 children, were injured in the accident.
