Stating that as the EU, they will provide financial support of €18 billion to Ukraine in 2023, Michel noted that they have also set up a defense fund of €11 billion to support Ukraine.

Stating that as the EU they also decided to provide combat training to 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers, Michel said that Europe’s arms aid to Ukraine continues. “We know that the next few weeks (at the front) will be really decisive. That is why more air defense systems, longer-range missiles and tanks are needed, and we need them now,” he said.

Noting that Ukraine suffered severe damage due to the war, Michel stressed that all those responsible for this problem must be prosecuted and sanctions against Russia must continue.
