Since World War II, Germany has been one of the largest suppliers of tanks to Europe. “Almost all armies in Europe have them.” Hammelburg expects the new minister, Boris Pistorius, to approve the handover.”
to amass
The only question is whether Germany can and will supply additional Leopard-2 tanks or other countries can supply these tanks. The factory has said that no new tanks can be delivered before 2024. And their stock is quite small. “But we can also go a long way if we increase the pressure on production and make a greater effort to find out in Europe who can do without some of these tanks.”
Challenger
The British decided to send Challenger 2 tanks, which is the first Western country to deliver this type of weapon to Ukraine. At the same time, Prime Minister Rutte and Foreign Affairs Minister Hoekstra will talk with President Biden today about the delivery of the Abraham tanks. “The problem here is that these tanks run on fuel that is hard to get in Europe and is not affordable,” says Hammelburg.
