Flight system collapsed, air transport paralyzed

Hundreds of domestic and international flights across the country were canceled after the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) system collapsed in the United States. System malfunctions, preventing pilots from accessing their flight plans, brought air travel to a standstill across the country.

It was reported that more than 700 planes were unable to take off and thousands of people were stranded at airports. The FAA urged pilots to be vigilant and announced that work is underway to reactivate the system.

The FAA also ordered airlines to suspend all domestic flights until 5:00 p.m. to “confirm the integrity of flight and safety information.”
