Invitation of the President of Israel to Erdogan
Turkey’s ambassador in Tel Aviv, Şakir Özkan Torunlar, presented his letter of credentials to Israel’s President Isaac Herzog. Ambassador Torunlar was received by Herzog at a ceremony held at the Israeli Presidential Residence in West Jerusalem.
After the ceremony where the National Anthem was sung, the Grandchildren presented Herzog with their letter of credentials.
Israeli President Herzog also invited President Tayyip Erdoğan to his country during his visit.
President Herzog, whose office is largely symbolic, last year became the first Israeli leader to visit Turkey since 2008. The two countries decided to appoint mutual ambassadors in August, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed with Erdogan. improve relations with Ankara after winning the elections in November.
